A South African court gave Mhlonishwa Mathebula nine life sentences and 90 years for raping 18 women.
A 33 year old South African is facing 315 years in jail, for raping 18 women over a five year period. Mhlonishwa Mathebula received his sentence last week, after pleading guilty to the charges against him at Scottburgh Regional Court.
Between 2008 and 2013, Mathebula would follow females on their way to work or school in the morning and rape them in sugar cane fields.
He targeted women mainly at the South Coast (Umzinto, Hibberdene, Dududu and Msinsi), and his victims are between 14 and 40 years old.
The South African police nicknamed Mathebula “Springbok” for his ability to dodge the authorities.
