ZIMBABWE police are warning their local dancehall artistes that if they engage in violence, they will feel the full force of the law.
The warning came about as a result of an onstage altercation between Zimbabwe dancehall acts Soul Jah Love and Seh Calaz on stage during at Dancehall Gig-Sting 2014 at the Harare City Sports Centre, recently.
According to The Herald, police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Paul Nyathi appealed to musicians to be mature in their conduct.
“The Zimbabwe Republic Police would like to warn dancehall artistes against agitating for violence as shown by the two artistes, who even tried to fight while being interviewed by a local radio station,” Nyathi was quoted as saying.
“Any artiste who tries to engage in any acts of violence will be severely dealt with, in terms of the country’s laws,” he continued.
Media reports claim that the onstage fracas ignited several skirmishes in the audience. No one died in
the incident.
