Black stars in pot 1 ahead of AFCON draw


Ghana Black Stars has been drawn in pot A for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations ahead of Wednesday’s official group.
On December 3, the main draw for the group stage will be held in Equatorial Guinea’s capital Malabo.
In pot A alongside Black Stars are the hosts, Equatorial Guinea, 2012 champions Zambia and 2013 runners-up Burkina Faso.
Black Stars have topped the group with eleven points ahead of Guinea who were placed second with 10 points, while Uganda (7 points) and Togo (6 points) have been eliminated from the tournament.
The bad news is that, defending champions Nigeria is eliminated in the group after finishing in third place with 8 points. Among 16 qualified teams, there is no debutants.
Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Mali and Algeria are in Pot 2, while South Africa is in Pot 3 along with Cape Verde, Gabon and DR Congo.
Senegal, Guinea, Congo and Cameroon are in Pot 4 as each group will contain one team from all the four pots.

Pot 1: Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Zambia, Burkina Faso
Pot 2: Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Mali, Algeria
Pot 3: Cape Verde, South Africa, Gabon, DR Congo
Pot 4: Senegal, Guinea, Congo, Cameroon
